NBA 76ers: "Championship Or BUST"?

After years of tanking a franchise, trading NBA Draft Picks to draft higher & holding back injured #3 Draft Pick Joel Embiid in 2014, #1 Draft Pick Ben Simmons in 2016 & #1 Draft Pick Markelle Fultz in 2017 during their Rookie Seasons has lead to slowly but securely building a Championship Contending Franchise. Their post-season ended in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals where the Boston Celtics Won Game 5 in Philly ending the 4-1 Series 114-112. During the off-season footage of Sophomore Markelle Fultz rehabilitating his shoulder and working towards regaining his jump shot that gave him the #1 Draft Pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. Fast forward to the 2018-2019 season, The 76ers have traded Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless & a 2022 Draft Pick to lock in Jimmy Butler & Justin Patton. In my opinion, The acquisition of Jimmy Butler sent a red flag to Markelle Fultz & his agent Raymond Brothers. The franchise GM Elton Brand initially denied the trade rumors regarding Fultz. However, in the last few days NBA TV dropped the headline “Markelle Fultz is no longer a part of 76ers long term plans.” This is the “politically correct” way of saying they are no longer “Trusting The Process” with Fultz and will be open to a possible blockbuster trade with multiple teams that desperately need a Shooting Guard but are also willing to pay and wait for Fultz to return to “Summer League” form. If you’re a Philly fan, this might be the moment you’ve been patiently waiting for. The 76ers are no longer tanking for first round draft picks. They are playing for revenge against Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics, building a defensive stop for Kawhi Leonard and his new home with the Toronto Raptors, preparing to dance with Dwayne Wade on his “Last Dance” farewell tour in Miami, and willing to show Victor Oladipo and his Indiana Pacers that he’s not the only Most Improved Player in the Eastern Conference.
