To anyone who’s been following the #NBA in recent months the drama in New Orleans is no secret. After the Pelicans lost DeMarcus Cousins to a ruptured achilles during the 2017-2018 season, trading Cousins to the Golden State Warriors during this years Free Agency & losing Rajon Rondo to the Los Angeles Lakers; it’s safe to say this franchise is heading towards a make or break season. If Anthony Davis stays In New Orleans, he’s guaranteed to receive a Super Max Contract estimated to be worth about $235 Million Dollars for the next 5 years. However, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Davis recently signed with Lebron James’ agent Rich Paul, which lead to rumors that Davis is heading to #LA after this season.
In my opinion, if Anthony Davis wants to win Championships in the NBA, The Lakers will be the best chance he has to win multiple rings even after Lebron retires. I understand for some players like Carmelo Anthony it’s all about the money, so if Anthony Davis stays with the Pelicans, it could mean that his main motivation in the league is the money. Honestly, I just don’t see the New Orleans Pelicans winning the NBA Finals anytime soon.
