NBA: Lakers “Playoffs or Bust?”

Laker fans all over the world are currently sitting in disbelief. The Los Angeles Lakers (29-31, #11 in the West) lost to the Memphis Grizzlies (24-38, #13 In The West) 105-110 on Monday Night. This devastating defeat comes fresh off of the Lakers lost to the New Orleans Pelicans (27-35, #12 In The West) 128-115 without Anthony Davis. Lebron stated last week that he had to activate “Playoff Lebron” early this season to get the Los Angeles Lakers end a 6 year NBA Playoff drought. In my opinion, the Lakers are in the worst position possible. They now have to win at least 15 of the last 20 games to even secure a Playoff Seed. However, when you lose to tanking teams (Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Pelicans & Memphis Grizzlies) those are considered “must win” games. The remaining 20 games include high caliber teams (Rockets, Warriors, Bucks, Nuggets & Raptors). At this point, as long as Lonzo Ball’s Defensive presence is missing, the Lakers will most likely lose majority of these matchups. The “X Factor” in the Lakers Playoff Fate is the lack of team chemistry stemming from the affects of the Anthony Davis Trade rumors leading up to the Trade Deadline. The Lakers never fully recovered from the locker room drama similar to how many analysts believe that Lebron is not fully recovered mentally or physically from his groin injury. The only way I feel the Lakers can save this season is to emphasize defense effort from every player (Lebron Included), improve Free Throw Shooting & turn good shots into great shots...Good Luck Laker Fans!
