Many NBA fans this past Monday morning got the news that The New Orleans Pelicans franchise player Anthony Davis decided to not sign his SuperMax extension by requesting a trade preferring to play for “A Championship Contender”. AD’s Agent Rich Paul Of Klutch Sports Group put the sports media world on notice 10 days before the upcoming February 7th Trade Deadline to give Magic Johnson and the Lakers front office an advantage over the rest of the league. However according to multiple sports outlets, Davis was fined 50k by the NBA for publicly demanding a trade while under contract with the Pelicans. Now in my opinion, when you gross over 30 million per season, 50k is not a bad price to pay for possible early release papers from a franchise that will not be in championship contention for the next couple years to a storied franchise on the brink of a revival through the business acumen of Former Laker Champion Magic Johnson & the mastermind of 3x NBA Champion Lebron James. I personally think the Lakers can pull this blockbuster trade off before the Feb 7th deadline. However, reports say that the Pelicans front office is not taking calls from Magic Johnson. This potential trade will possibly reset the balance in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors may finally reach that 3 peat to fulfill their Dynasty This season. However, the entire league can clearly see that after this years NBA Finals, the West will shift the balance of power back from Oakland to LA. The Clock is ticking Magic...Make It Happen!
