NBA: The Rise Of Zion

For 3 Months, NBA Players and Fans around the world have long awaited the official debut of NBA Rookie Zion Williamson. On Wednesday January 22nd, the New Orleans Pelicans faced the San Antonio Spurs. The Pelicans fought hard but lost to the Spurs 121-117. Williamson finished with 22 points off of 8-for-11 shots which works out to a 72.7% Field Goal Percentage. With these stats, Zion joined a special group of players who had 20 or more points and shot 70% or better from the field in their first NBA game. Recovering from a torn meniscus, Zion showed the league that he was not only worth the wait, but also able to live up to the hype built up surrounding his debut. in my opinion, The New Orleans Pelicans (#12 In The West 17-28) are currently out of the 2020 NBA Playoff Picture. However, with the Memphis Grizzlies (#8 In The West, 21-24) barely holding on to the last seed in the Western Conference, the Pelicans, Spurs & Trailblazers will be fighting for the 8th Seed after the 2020 NBA All-Star Break. I don’t see no reason why the young & gifted Pelicans can’t make one last run for the Playoffs with Zion, Lonzo Ball & Brandon Ingram leading the way!
