NBA: Thunder “Where MVPs Are Born”

For any NBA fans who have been paying attention to the leagues Season MVP for the last 5 years, The Oklahoma City Thunder original core stars have all won the MVP in their own respective careers. From Kevin Durant’s breakout season in 2014, Russell Westbrook‘s 1st season averaging a Triple Double In 2017, and most recently Thunder’s former “6th Man Of The Year” James Harden In 2018. Fast forward to this current season...Guess who’s next in line? Former Indiana Pacers Superstar Paul “Playoff P” George is having arguably his best season with Russ in OKC. With last 10 games averaging 30+ Pts, leading the league in Steals & currently on a 9-1 winning streak, the league has taken notice. The Dynamic Duo Of Paul George & Russell Westbrook (who recently passed Wilt Chamberlain‘s record by averaging 10 Triple Doubles consecutively) started off as another “BIG 3” experiment with future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony last season. However, after being swept in the 1st round of the 2018 NBA Playoff by a young Utah Jazz led by Rookie Donovan Mitchell, it was clear that OKC wasn’t going to compete with the Golden State Warriors unless some roster changes were made. This season, with George signing an extension during the offseason, the Thunder appear ready to take the West by storm. It’s what the city has been waiting for since the departures of James Harden & Kevin Durant: The Return Of a Dynasty. In my opinion, the OKC Thunder (37-19, #3 in the West) can get back to the Western Conference Finals. As long as Russell averages a triple double and allows Paul George to continue leading the team in scoring. We might just have to change his name from “Playoff P” to “MVPG”.
