With all the competition in the Eastern Conference, teams like the Philadelphia 76ers (#5 in the East, 34-21) are struggling to not only solidify their elite playoff position but also to secure their identity on the court. Currently 5th Behind Miami, Boston, Toronto & Milwaukee, the 76ers are no where near coming out of the East. With Joel Embiid & Ben Simmons still struggling to determine who’s the leader of the team, I find it very ironic that many NBA Analysts predicted that this franchise would not only make it the 2020 NBA Finals, but also win the 2020 NBA Championship. In my opinion, Head Coach Brett Brown needs to either change his rotations so Ben & Joel can share the leadership role or GM Elton Brand needs to trade Joel or Ben. If Coach Brown is unable to maximize the duo’s potential this postseason, it may be time to search for a new Head Coach to develop their roster talents. At the end of the day, I still got Milwaukee or Miami coming out of the East. Consistency is key & Philly needs to take heed.
