WNBA: Fever “Temperature’s Rising”

After finishing the 2018 Season with the worst record in the league (6-28), it’s no surprise that the 2019 WNBA Draft would be the first plan of action for a franchise struggling to find its identity since Former WNBA Champion Tamika Catchings retired in 2016. It was evident that last season was an experiment when it came down to lineup rotations, mid season roster additions & inconsistent style of play. With their 1st Round Draft Pick, The Fever selected Teaira McCowan, a 6’7” Center who also played well with the 2018 Draft Pick Victoria Vivians during their time together at Mississippi State University. In my opinion, the Indiana Fever have been too “Guard Heavy” and were in dire need of a Center to secure the post and support Natalie Achonwa with someone to rotate during games. This major move along with the 25th Pick 2 Guard Paris Kea of North Carolina and the 28th Pick Power Forward Caliya Robinson of Georgia appears to be the Fever’s plan to have a bigger lineup this summer. As a Fever Fan, I look forward to the bright future for this young and upcoming WNBA Franchise!
