WNBA Regular Season Recap / Playoff Schedule

With the 1st Round of the WNBA 2018 Playoffs taking place today, this is a perfect time to take a step back and recap this 2018 season. For some teams like the Seattle Storm & Phoenix Mercury this season was pretty much on cruise control. For other teams like the fan favorite Los Angeles Sparks, Minnesota Lynx & Dallas Wings, this season has been scrappy from the season tip-off to All Star Weekend in Minnesota. Then we have teams like the New York Liberty & Indiana Fever who knew that this season was a season for growth and development, by rebuilding via the 2018 Draft and Free Agency. Unfortunately, the Liberty were plagued with a handful of injuries, simultaneously that kept them on the low end. The Sky set some WNBA & new team records & the Sun have run at a tempo that makes them super fun to watch. The Aces proved to be a force to be reckoned with thanks to ROY A'ja Wilson & McBride combo. The Atlanta Dream went on an amazing winning streak & secured the #2 seed.

As a fan and analyst of the NBA & WNBA, I can truly say I witnessed greatness this season. Every single team, whether it be as an organization or individual achievements has made history by breaking & setting new records, along with new standards for the league & game of basketball... professional male or female. The Indiana Fever may have finished with the worst record in the league, but they showed great potential in their match-ups with Dallas, Phoenix & Seattle. Rookies Stephanie Mavunga, Kelsey Mitchell & Victoria Vivians will be a serious threat next season. With some off-season training, chemistry development & a couple of 1st round draft picks (centers needed ASAP) ; I can see the Indiana Fever dominating the Eastern Conference in the upcoming seasons.
